HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT UPDATED FOR 2018-2019
(Boys & Girls Ages 5 and up)
This program is designed to introduce beginning students to the fundamentals of hockey while continuing to develop skating skills. Sessions are 50 minutes long, on Saturdays. Students will be grouped with others in the same age/skill level to maximize the benefit to each child. The format is based on the USA Hockey American Development Model curriculum. This program is under the direction of Winter Garden Staff. Parent volunteers are welcome to submit a coaching application, and will help provide your child with a very desirable instructor to student ratio. Children MUST be 5 years old (as of January 1, 2013) to participate in this program. Class size limited. Hockey helmet with face mask, hockey gloves, hockey pants,  shin & elbow pads required for all participants! Winter Garden Ice Arena has complete sets of equipment, as well as skates and hockey helmets that children can borrow for each class. Please note, all Hockey Development participants must have basic skating skills. If your child is a non-skater, please register for our "Hockey Learn to Skate" or "Learn to Skate" prior to enrolling in this program
